Falmouth Gig Club is not all about training and competing. We make full use of our fantastic location with a broad programme of rowing, which appeals not just to competitive athletes, but also to those who want to make friends, get out on the water, and keep fit.

'Club Rowing' sessions are inclusive of all club members, so are mixed gender, age and ability.

Learn to row/develop your technique
Every Monday evening in the summer, and Saturday morning through the winter, club rowers go out for regular training sessions. The coaching and many of the rowers are the same as in the squad sessions. The first row (one hour) is focused on technique and the second is rowing for fitness and enjoyment.

We are now on winter timings.
Friday night racing
Throughout the summer months, we row out every Friday evening and meet other clubs around the Carrick Roads for some friendly racing. Crews are mixed ability, age and gender. We have three short races and then tie the boats together and share beer. It's a great way to start racing before taking on proper regattas. We sometimes run the same format on Saturday mornings during the winter.
Social Rows
Social rows are usually to a beach or a pub. They are an opportunity to enjoy the water and places we row and the company of fellow rowers.
Annual Events
Other club rowing events through the year include the Penryn River Revels, Flushing & Mylor Regatta, the Head of the Helford River Race, Falmouth Classics Parade of Sail, and watching the Red Arrows in Falmouth Bay.
