On Sunday 29th September volunteers from Falmouth gig club took visitors out onto the river to try gig rowing for the first time. Despite the rain there was a good turn out and lots of locals came down to the river to watch the racing and have a go at traditional gig rowing. The annual Miss Peapods ‘River Revel’s’ event is in it’s third year now and is becoming increasingly popular with sponsorship from Skinners, lots of fun racing to watch such as egg & spoon sculling and blindfolded rowing racing with bottles of whisky as prizes. It’s always a fun event to attend and Falmouth gig club are looking forward to returning next year, perhaps with a few other clubs for some blind folded gig racing!?
