Club Rowers

Club rowing is open to all members of the Club and will provide a progression from Novice rower to Squad rower.

Club rowing gives opportunities for both competitive and social rowing.

Training sessions are available for all levels of ability.

Club rowing comprises of:         Novice section       Improver’s sessions        Social opportunities

Club rowing gives all members a choice of training programmes both on and off the water, racing competitions, and social activities for fun and enjoyment.

Activities covered will include: Scillies Championships in May, the local county-wide summer events, racing in the ‘Carrick Series’ involving local gig clubs around Carrick Roads, and the County Championships in Newquay at the end of the season.

Social rowing gets you on the water and helps to keep you fit on a regular basis. ‘Jolly’s’ are also arranged for some longer rows with refreshment at various local venues or beach picnics, when the weather allows.

Club rowing also provides training opportunities for our new coxes.

Novice and Improvers are offered coaching session’s compatible with Club style and technique in preparation to join the squads. With advantages for personal advancement and commitment to the Club, members will be able to compete at their level at various events on the gig racing calendar.

Social Rowing sessions are for those who would prefer a less competitive row, and there are opportunities for non-competitive rowers who will enjoy the well-being and fitness rowing offers.
